Ventura County has so much to offer its residents. The beaches of Ventura County are one of the main attractions of this beautiful stretch of land. As most people drive through Ventura County they can’t help but to admire the beauty and serenity of the Pacific Ocean and the land that lie on its Ventura shore.

 

Here is a list of Ventura County Beaches with a variety of facilities and activities to suit anyone’s needs.

emma-wood.jpgEmma Wood State Beach -This is a great beach among surfers. Emma Wood is mainly a camping beach however, day uses are permitted.

 

Faria Beach County ParkWith restrooms, showers, firepits, and water, this beach is primarily an R.V. park. There are some day parking spots along Highway 1.

 

Harbor Cove Beach - This is a great swimming beach. Since this beach is close to restaurants it makes an ideal location for a stroll after a nice romantic dinner.

Hobson County ParkThis beach is primary an RV park along the 101 Freeway. However, surfing is pretty popular at this Ventura County beach.

 

hollywood-beach-1.jpgHollywood Beach - This beach is located on the west side of the Channel Islands Harbor. This one mile of sandy beach showcases some of Ventura County’s most beautiful resorts.

 

La Conchita BeachThis exposed beach with awesome swellings has the best surfing condition any surfer could wish for. However, because of its pointy rocks not a lot of surfers are attracted to this beach.

 

Leo Carrillo State Park – Right on the county line, Ventura and Los Angeles County, Leo Carrillo beach has become very popular among surfers. The park provides many facilities for visitors and their campers including programs for the children during the summer holidays.

Mandalay County Park A great family beach with picnic and grassy areas for a day trip to the beach.

McGrath State BeachMcGrath State BeachA campside beach, this region is one of California’s best birth watching areas. The beach is perfect for surfing and fishing, however, because of its strong currents and riptides, swimmers are urged to stay away.

Marina Park – This is an ideal beach for having a picnic, or a play date for the kids. This beach is a nice place to sit and watch the sail boats as they take their sailing lessons in the inlet.

Mussel Sholes – A popular place for surfers, swimmers, jet skiers, and campers. This beach is right off the 101 Freeways and is home to one of the best hotels and restaurants called Cliff House.

 

Ormond BeachOrmond Beach- Located on Highway 1 and north of Los Angeles County, this Ventura County sandy beach has a spectacular view of the Channel Islands to the south, and steep mountain cliffs to the north.

Point Mugu Beach - This is a beach for bird watchers, swimmers, and body surfers. The sandy and rocky bluffs of this beach are located off of Highway 1, south of Oxnard.

Port Hueneme Beach ParkYou will not need a permit to fish off the pier at this beach. This beach is equipped with picnic areas, barbecue pits, snack bar, and restrooms.

rincon-beach.jpgRincon Beach - Rated as one of the top five surfing spots in the world. This beach was featured in the Warner Brothers’ 1978 film Big Wednesday.

 

San Buenaventura Beach - This 2-mile stretch of sand and sun is located in the heart of Ventura. Things to do and places to visit at this beach includes the pier, restaurant, snack bar, surfing, swimming, camping, volleyball and biking.

 

Seaward Avenue Beach - A sandy and warm beach located in a great neighborhood with small but charming restaurants.

 

Silver Strand BeachSilver Strand Beach – This beach is located on the east side of the Channel Islands Harbor. This beach is popular among surfers, boogie boarders, and body surfers.

Solimar BeachSeen both from Highway 1 and the 101 Freeway, this beach is popular among surfers and swimmers.

 

surfers-knoll.jpgSurfers Knoll Beach – If you like to fly a kite then this is your beach. Knoll beach is not considered a swimmer’s beach, but it is a great beach to surf, relax and enjoy the sun.

 

Surfers Point At Seaside Park - Not a good swimming beach but if you like surfing this point is well known for the consistent, excellent waves.

 

Sycamore Cove Beach- close to Camarillo and on the historic Highway 1, this beach is the doorway to sycamore Canyon campsites.

Pets on the Beach:

State: No pets allowed. Only on leashes at the camp grounds.

County: Allowed on-leash only, on beach before 9am and after 5pm.

City: Only allowed on a leash in park and on beach. Please clean-up after your pet.

Campfires:

State: No.

County: Only in a self-contained BBQ-style container.

City: No.

Lifeguards on Duty:

State: Ventura County Lifeguards always present.

County: Lifeguards during summer break only.

City: No lifeguards on duty.
