Today is Blog Action Day. A day where most bloggers from around the world write and discus one specific topic. The focus of 2008’s Blog Action Day is poverty in order to raise awareness of this global calamity.
As many of my readers know I have lived on 3 different continents. I have witnessed poverty of all forms in many diverse cultures.
Poverty affects people of all ages indiscriminately, but all children of the world should not be the prey to poverty’s oppressive hands.
“Everyday 30,000 children die due to causes directly related to poverty.”

Yet, minimal effort is made by most of us to help the children in need. We are all guilty of ignoring these children for this long.
Today I joined Rocky Turner, the founder of Mothers Fighting For Others, to help provide children who live in extreme poverty with shelter, clean water, and food. I urge you all to please consider helping children whose only crime was to be born into the into the less-fortunate areas of the world that we all share.
Thank you.

30,000 children lost each day is a staggering number. I don’t think I can even wrap my mind around that. I will be looking deeper at Mothers Fighting for Others. Thanks for being a part of this awareness effort, Mana.
Elaine, 30,000 is an unbelievable number and if we don’t help these children who will?
