My son's goes to that school. They have once again, veiled the residents of Camarillo. They have no intent to build a new High School. The property is on Strawberry Fields, its toxic!
The reason why Teachers did not want it because they might be out of a job.
The reason why Oxnard go to vote is because Oxnard is bigger than Camarillo.

so we sit once again with a High School that is run down, teachers do not care and the Library has no books and no computor lab once again. No Auto Shop, Music Department is barely able to compete. Yes Measure U would have helped the younger generation of this town, and If I would a parent of a younger kid I would move out and go to another town with a district in the town.

Oxnard should not be involved in Camarillo.

From my research on the matter, I have found that many teachers are also against unification due to the lack of a solid implemetation plan for the changeover (if it passes), the lack of funds the new district will get incomparison to what OUHSD receives (many low income families and overall lower scores equal lots of funding - we don't have much of either in Camarillo), and job uncertainty. Personally, I'm on the fence with this one.
