During the holidays the spirit of giving and generosity is at its highest.  This year money is tight for most Ventura County families.  However, as times get harder we need to still remember that there are those less fortunate than us in our community.

Your goodwill this year does not have to be in the form of cash.  I’m sure most of you have one or two coats in your closet that have not been used in a while.

One Warm Coat is a non-profit organization that collects your clean, reusable coats and donates your coats to those children, men, and women who can use one warm coat.

Our dream is that One Warm Coat becomes a part of the American lifestyle. When a coat is no longer needed, people will think of One Warm Coat. They will make their donation knowing that children, women and men in need will receive a gift of a warm coat.

Last year more than 2,000 One Warm Coat drives were held across the country.  In Ventura County there are many that can use your warm coats.  If you are interested in helping those less fortunate in Ventura County, One Warm Coat provides five easy steps to a successful coat drive or to donate directly take your clean, gently used coat to Burlington Coat Factory located at 4726 Telephone Road in Ventura between now and January 16, 2009.
