Pete Kozak

If circumstances and our reactions to them truly define a person and their career, then Pete Kozak would be the case and point. Pete found his passion for financial planning and wealth management in 1985 when his father died of a heart attack at the age of 50. Seeking objective, competent financial planning advice was difficult, as most of the advisers appeared to have significant conflicts of interest. While there were many professionals in the planning industry calling themselves “financial planners”, Pete soon discovered that there were very few whom he trusted would put his family’s interests first. As a result, he created Kozak Financial Advisory to give others the trust, value and confidence that he so desired for his own family.
Kozak Financial Advisory is a Fee-Only Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm with offices in Camarillo, California. The firm earns no commissions from product sales in order to offer more objective advice to clients. Kozak Financial Advisory provides clients with both integrated financial planning services as well as fee-only asset management using Schwab Institutional as the clearing firm.
After graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in Economics, Pete Kozak gained significant investment experience while working in various finance related industries such as commercial real estate and mortgage banking. His resume includes experience with Syndicated Real Estate Investments, Inc., Cal Fed Bank, Chase Manhattan Mortgage, Alliance Advisory and Securities, Inc. and Petra Financial Advisors, Inc. Pete earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation in 1997 after completing the educational coursework and experience requirements from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. In 1999, Pete attended the Financial Planning Association (FPA) Residency Program, a nationally recognized financial planning educational and mentorship program.
Pete is active in leadership in the Ventura County chapter of the Financial Planning Association. He has been featured in publications by Morningstar, the leading provider of objective financial investment data as well as quoted in local and national media on planning and investment topics. He speaks regularly on planning and investment topics to local groups and trade associations.
Pete has eleven years of professional experience in the financial planning and investment management industries. His passion is to represent his client’s best interests in what has become a very complex financial world.
