On this beautiful sunny and warm Thanksgiving Day I am thankful for my beautiful family, my true friends, clients who have placed their trust in my hands, and numerous other gifts that God has bestowed upon me and my family.  As I look outside the window at this amazing place I call home I can not help myself but to recognize and be grateful for living in such a breathtaking corner of this universe.  Ventura County’s beauty has always kept me amazed and surprised.

They say pictures speak a thousand words and Kurt Preissler does a fantastic job to capture the incredible beauty of our County.

Below are just a few of Kurt’s captivating illustrations of Ventura County.

Ventura County 13-Year-Old Fights Hunger

No Gravatar

food-share

With the current economic downturn that the country is facing, more and more people are reaching out to food banks.  Ventura County food banks are no exception.  The demand has been high, but the supply unfortunately very low.  It is at times like these that we all need to become more compassionate and humane towards others; more like Jacob Mizraji.

Jacob Mizraji is a 13-year-old Ventura County resident, attending Balboa Middle-school, who decided to aid the hungry in Ventura County.  Jacob has so far donated $500 from his bar mitzvah and plans to do more than just that.  Jacob also plans on painting curb numbers and donating the proceeds to the Ventura County Food Share.

Hero? Maybe to many, but Jacob considers himself an ordinary boy who decided to take matters in to his own hands. Jacob, Ventura County is very proud to have a citizen such as you.

If you wish to help our local Ventura County food banks please visit Food Share Inc.

Ventura County Coupons

Coupons

In today’s economy we all need to pinch our purses a little tighter to survive the tough times.  One of the most common means for shoppers to save has been clipping coupons out of local newspapers.  But not any more. Thanks to the Ventura County Star, saving with coupons has never been easier.

The Coupon Information and News section of Ventura County Star provides Ventura county residents with local coupons in 200 unique categories such as food, restaurants, automotive, apparel, beauty, and so on.  Now by just a click and print you can have access to as many coupons as your hearth desires.  No more waiting for the Sunday paper to cut out coupons.  And if you are interested in printing coupons from national brands and retailers, Ventura County Star has a link just for that.  Hint: It is at the very bottom of the page.

Very best on your savings.

If you have any input on this issue, we would like to hear what you have to say in the comment section provided for you below.

H1N1 Vaccine For Ventura County Residents

No Gravatar

flumist_sprayer

It is official now.  The very publicized H1N1 virus, AKA the Swine Flu, has officially hit Ventura County.  A few of my childrens’ friends have tested positive for the virus.  Also, a good friend of yours truly who is a nurse at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital informs me that she has seen an increase in the number of young adults showing up to the hospital with the swine flu.

Recently the Ventura County Public Health Office announced that the FluMist vaccine for H1N1 virus is now available for Healthy candidates between the ages of 2-24 yeas of age.  The State of California has yet to deliver the injectable form of the vaccine for other age groups.

The Public Health Office asks that before you show up for the FluMist vaccination you fill out the H1N1 Screening Form.

Remember, lines might be long so please show up early and call for FluMist availability at Ambulatory Care Clinics.

For regular updates on H1N1 vaccine availability please contact (805)-981-5390 Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.

No Gravatar

Although short sales these days are not as attractive to home buyers as they once were, they still account for 16% of all of the homes sold in Ventura County during the first 9 months of 2009.

Short sale refers to the process in which the lender agrees to sell a property for less than what is owed on the property by the home owner.  Short sale process is long and tedious, however, short sales can save homeowners from facing foreclosure.
